Goodspeed Plans Brigadoon Revival March 30

EAST HADDAM, CT -- Goodspeed Musicals will open its 2001 mainstage season with a revival of Lerner & Loewe's Scottish fairytale, Brigadoon, at Goodspeed Opera House March 30 to June 23.
Tommy, the American who stumbles on the magical village of the title, will be played by James Clow (Roundabout's She Loves Me and Company). Fiona, the local maid he falls in love with, will be performed by Amanda Serkasevich. David Rossmer has signed to play Jeff, and Lisa Brescia will sing Meg. Greg Ganakas, who staged Goodspeed's July 2000 revival of George M!, will direct Brigadoon, which has scheduled April 30 as its press opening.

Also in the cast: David Barron (Mr. Lundie), Nili Bassman (Jean MacLaren), Paul Carlin (Andrew MacLaren/Frank), Robyn Cohen, Brian J. Cooper (Bagpiper), Elizabeth Ferrell (Maggie Anderson), Paul J. Gallagher, Dale Hensley (Archie Beaton), Natalie Hill, Kevin Loreque, Patrick Mullaney (Harry Beaton), Daniel Reichard (Charlie Dalrymple), Greg Roderick, James R. Santos, Adam Souza, James Tabeek, Jennifer S. Taylor, Melanie Vaughan, and Anna Winthrop.

The 1947 Lerner & Loewe musical tells the story of two Americans lost in the highlands of Scotland who discover an enchanted village that appears on earth just one day every hundred years. After a day of adventure and love,then must choose whether to leave -- or to stay and give up their old lives forever.

The score includes "Come to Me, Bend to Me," "The Heather on the Hill," "Almost Like Being in Love," "Bonnie Jean," "Waitin' for My Dearie" and "From This Day On."
