Brigadoon
and Big Love Win Top 2001 Honors from CT Critics Circle

- NEW HAVEN -- The Goodspeed Musicals revival
of Brigadoon has been named Outstanding Production of a
Musical,
and Big Love at Long Wharf the Outstanding Production of a Play, by the Connecticut Critics Circle for the
2000-01 season. The 11th-annual awards ceremony honoring outstanding contributions
to Connecticut Theatre will be held June 24 at the Southern Connecticut
State University in New Haven.

- Brigadoon
also won awards for director Greg Ganakas and choreographer Peggy Hickey, while musical awards for actor and
actress went to John Scherer for Goodspeed's revival of George M! and
Kristen Howe for the Downtown Cabaret Theatre production of Joseph and the
Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, respectively.

- Big Love took home additional awards
for actress Lauren Klein and director Les Waters. Klein tied in Best Actress honors with Anne
Dudek of the Hartford Stage's The Glass Menagerie, while Jeremy Shamos took
Best Actor honors for another Hartford Stage production, Baptiste: A Life of Molière.
The acclaimed Royal Shakespeare
Company production of Macbeth, which played at last year's International Festival of Arts & Ideas, was named Best
Roadshow.
